Horror, monsters and muscles: fans of the Resident Evil series will be happy to hear that Resident Evil 6 will be available for PC from March 22nd. For North America it will be available to download digitally and Europe will have both the digital download (priced at £19.99) and a disc based version. Both the physical and digital versions will include the following, which were added to the console version as post-launch title updates:
- Access to the Ada Wong campaign from the start with the option to play this with a co-op partner and the ability to fine-tune the in-game camera.
- Access to Residentevil.net
It also has access to a new and exclusive mode: The Mercenaries: No Mercy. It takes the fan favourite Mercenaries and provides an even greater challenge, with the opportunity for skilled players to rack up even higher combo scores.
As well as this fans will be able to check out how the game will run on their machine thanks to a free benchmark test from February. Owners will be able to expand the gameplay experience further with the release of a fourth additional mode, Siege which is an online multiplayer mode for 4-6 players. A lone AI-controlled BSAA agent is in trouble and in need of help: players split into 2 teams, one assuming the role of the enemy creatures and the other the team sent to rescue the rookie. Each game consists of 2 rounds with teams swapping, and it will be available in March for 320 Microsoft Points or £3.19.
It's also been confirmed that Survivors, Predator and Onslaught modes will be available for Playstation 3 owners this February with each individually priced at £3.19. These will be available post-launch for PC players shortly after 22nd March, with any future title updates being made available free of charge for PC owners.
