People who say that video games aren't useful in reality may want to stop and have a look at this new game. Flirt Planet, currently available on Facebook, is a ground-breaking new social dating game where players can learn valuable socialising and 'fliting' skills that will genuinely help when it comes to dating in the real life. It was designed to help improve real world relationships.
To celebrate this and inspire users and supporters for its Live Test Version (on Facebook), Flirt Planet is launching a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo. Even better, to conincide with the love-filled holiday, the campaign will start on February 14th (Valentine's Day) and will run for 45 days. In this crowdfunding the developer, TrulySocial, will allow Flirt Planet's backers to collaborate in the development of the core game features. So the important question here is, how does Flirt Planet work?
All you have to do is log in through Facebook Connect and build your avatar. Then you simply create and maintain relationships with other player-created Avatars and AI computer controlled characters. These interactions can take place in multiple forms: both via text and through digitally animated body language. With your avatar you interact with others who you find attractive, and learn how to flirt better and date within the game. These skills can then be transferred to real life interactions.
In addition you can introduce compatible friends, take on-line crushes on virtual dates and practice flirting and dating skills. The skills you acquire here are the foundations for building meaningful relationships in the real world, giving the game real value.
And you don't have to worry about safety either: Flirt Planet is well controlled for appropriate playing and dating activities. The game is open to players 13+, however 13-17 year olds may only play the "core game". Players aged 18+ can play the game and also have access to the Dating area, where your skills are put into practice. Teens have no way of interacting with adults, and vice versa, and personal details are not displayed.
This innovative game is currently live on Facebook and will soon be available on the iPhone, iPad and Android devices. What do you think about this? A dating game that gives real life skills? Give us a comment!
