Today at PAX East Blizzard announced their newest game: Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, a small dev team project that looks set to take Blizzard back to the days where programming was done in garages and basements.
[UPDATE] You can check out the 'Building the Fire' video below, which takes you behind the scenes with the developers to look at how they're bringing the new game to life.
Designed and created by a team of fifteen people, Hearthstone is an online card game which has three modes: Player vs Player, Player vs AI and Forge Mode, which is where you create your deck. It's a "charming collective strategy card game set in the Warcraft Universe" where you play as one of 9 mighty heroes, each with different focuses. The cards themselves, as with other card games, will come in common, rare, epic and even legendary creatures to obliterate your enemies.

What makes this game seem even better is that it is free to play with the option to purchase cards. As well as this there is a crafting mode, where you are able to change your cards by disenchanting them into arcane dust which allows you to build other cards of ultimate power!
Additionally the point of this game is to be easily accessible for everyone, meaning players who have no knowledge of card games can get straight into it and enjoy the action. There are also plans to release it on PC (the staple for Blizzard games), Mac and even the iPad, with an estimated launch date of later this year.
You can check out the official website, which has now gone live, and can even sign up for the beta right now. This uses the Battle Net system Blizzard have been honing.
